A longtime pleasure rider, Norm began volunteering at CATR in 2016, joined the Board of Directors two years later and was named president in 2019. Before moving to Johns Island, Norm taught therapeutic riding for seven years as a PATH-certified instructor at Therapeutic Riding of Tryon (TROT), a program which he helped establish in 2006. He has served on a variety of non-profit boards in North and South Carolina focusing on health care, community development, land conservation and nature education. Before retiring from professional life, Norm worked in New York's film and television industry.
